Our Services:Brick & Corner Pop Repair

A corner pop is a triangular crack at the corner of your slab, where the brick ledge breaks away. It is usually cosmetic, and we confirm that before we fix it.

01

We won't oversell a corner pop.

Most corner pops are not a foundation problem. We check elevations to be sure, then repair the corner and brick so it looks right.

What causes corner pops in Spring, TX

Different expansion rates

Brick and concrete expand at different rates in Texas heat, which stresses the thin corner of the slab.

Newer post-tension slabs

Brick homes on newer slabs in Gleannloch Farms, Windrose and Augusta Pines often show corner pops in the first years.

Thin brick ledge

The ledge that holds the brick is narrow at the corner and cracks under pressure.

Slab movement

Less often, a corner pop comes from the foundation actually moving.

Water and corrosion

Water at the corner can rust rebar or cable ends and crack the concrete around them.

Construction details

Brick laid tight to the slab with no room to expand puts more pressure on the corner.

FAQs

Is a corner pop a foundation problem?

Usually not. It is normally caused by brick and concrete expanding at different rates. We check elevations to be sure.

Do I need to fix it?

It is often cosmetic, but repairing it keeps water out and protects rebar or cable ends from rust.

Can you match my brick?

We match brick and mortar as closely as possible. Older or discontinued brick can be harder to match exactly.

Will it come back?

A properly rebuilt corner with room for expansion usually holds. If the slab is moving, that is addressed first.
