What causes slab leaks in Spring, TX

Aging cast-iron drains

Many 1970s and 80s homes in Champion Forest, Northgate Forest and Klein still have original cast-iron drains that corrode and crack.

Clay movement

As clay swells and shrinks, it shifts the slab and stresses the pipes running through it.

Copper pipe wear

Copper supply lines can wear through where they rub against concrete or gravel.

Hard water

Mineral-heavy water speeds corrosion inside older lines.

Poor original installation

Kinked or poorly bedded lines put under a slab decades ago can fail over time.

Earlier foundation movement

A slab that has settled or heaved may have already cracked a drain line.

How we find and fix slab leaks

  1. STEP 01
    Pressure test

Hydrostatic and supply line tests confirm whether a line is leaking.

  2. STEP 02
    Locate

The leak is pinpointed with a camera inspection and electronic locating.

  3. STEP 03
    Choose access

We recommend tunneling under the slab or breaking through, based on where the leak is.

  4. STEP 04
    Repair

A licensed plumber fixes or reroutes the line.

  5. STEP 05
    Restore and check

Tunnels are backfilled and compacted, and elevations are checked for foundation movement.

FAQs

Do you do the plumbing repair?

Plumbing repairs are made by a licensed plumber. We coordinate the work and handle the foundation side.

Tunnel or break the slab?

Tunneling avoids breaking floors inside the home but costs more on long runs. Breaking through is faster for a leak near an outside wall.

Can a slab leak damage my foundation?

Yes. Water under the slab can swell clay and lift the floor, or wash soil out and leave a void.

Does insurance cover slab leaks?

Many policies cover access and repair for a sudden leak but not the pipe itself or soil movement. Check your policy.
